Every year throughout the world, individuals' health isdamaged by their exposure to toxic chemicals at work. In most casesthese problems will resolve, but many will sustain permanentdamage. Whilst any justified claim for compensation requiresmedical and legal evidence a crucial and often controversialcomponent of this process is the establishment of a causal linkbetween the individual's condition and exposure to a specificchemical or substance. Causation, in terms of how a substance orsubstances led the claimant to his or her current plight, can bedifficult to establish and the main purpose of this book, is toprovide the aspiring expert report writer with a concise, practicalguide that uses case histories to illuminate the process ofestablishing causation in occupational toxicityproceedings.
