Journalist Edward Malone is tasked with interviewing the formidable and hot-tempered Professor Challenger, whose controversial claims of living prehistoric creatures on an isolated plateau in South America have stirred widespread skepticism. Expecting a hostile reception from the infamously combative scientist, Malone is instead surprised when Challenger, recognizing the young reporter's eagerness for adventure, invites him to join an upcoming expedition. What follows is a perilous journey into an uncharted realm teeming with dinosaurs and hostile ape-like beings. Having already made his mark in detective literature, Arthur Conan Doyle ventured into speculative fiction with this groundbreaking 1912 novel, which played a pivotal role in shaping early science fiction and has since influenced generations of writers and filmmakers.

Sir Arthur Conan Doyle (1859-1930), a Scottish physician and writer, created the legendary Sherlock Holmes. Initially a short story writer, his Holmes tales achieved immense popularity, launching his literary career. Beyond Holmes, Doyle wrote historical fiction, science fiction, and plays, showcasing his versatility. A fervent spiritualist and advocate for social justice, his life reflected a blend of rational inquiry and passionate belief, a duality mirrored in his celebrated detective's character.
