A new novel in the best-selling RCN military SF series: Captain Daniel Leary and his cybrarian friend Adele Mundy think they've earnt the quiet life. But there is a rebellion in a distant, but politically critical, star system and high officials are determined to get the lifelong friends involved. The odds in guns are badly in the enemy's favor. And even if Daniel and Adele succeed in battle, they can't be sure their employers really wanted them to win.

David Drake is one of the most respected military science fiction authors in the industry having developed the 'Hammer's Slammers' series and the 'RCN' series for Baen Books-two of the first hugely popular military SF series. A Vietnam War veteran he is renowned for bringing the military sensibility to his stories and the soldier's sensibilities to his characters.
