DANIEL E. FALVEY, PhD, is Professor at the University ofMaryland. His research focuses on reaction mechanisms and reactiveintermediates, with an emphasis on the exploration of intermediatesthat play a role in biochemical processes. Dr. Falvey has beenawarded the Merck Award and the Reynold C. Fuson Memorial Award inChemistry. Acclaimed for his teaching abilities, he has receivedthe Outstanding Teacher Award from the Center for TeachingExcellence.
ANNA D. GUDMUNDSDOTTIR, PhD, is Professor of Chemistry atthe University of Cincinnati. Dr. Gudmundsdottir's studiesphoto-removeable protecting groups, reactive intermediates, andpolymer modification. Her research team elucidated the reactivityof triplet alkyl and vinyl nitrenes in solution and solid stateusing transient spectroscopy and matrix isolation. Among her manyhonors, Dr. Gudmundsdottir is a recipient of the NSF CAREERAward.
