Joseph Farrell is Professor of Classical Studies at theUniversity of Pennsylvania. He is the author of several books andpapers on Latin literature, including Vergil's Georgicsand the Traditions of Ancient Epic (1991), Latin Languageand Latin Culture from Ancient to Modern Times (2001), and theforthcoming Juno's Aeneid: Narrative, Metapoetics,Dissent.
Michael C. J. Putnam is MacMillan Professor of Classicsand Professor of Comparative Literature, Emeritus, at BrownUniversity. His works include Maffeo Vegio: Short Epics(2004), Poetic Interplay: Catullus and Horace (2006), andThe Virgilian Tradition: The First Fifteen Hundred Years(with Jan Ziolkowski, 2008)
