Year 2035 Cyn is a Drug Enforcement Agent (DEA) operative on assignment in Mexico, where a weapons deal goes wrong. She is force to shoot and kill another agent because she doesn't know which side he is on or whether he is a rogue double agent. They assemble inside an old warehouse to negotiate the deal. Another agent was embedded with the cartel, which wasn't revealed to Cyn for both of their safety. She arrives at the meeting and exits her red Corvette and walks up to the three Hispanic men. Emmanuel walks up and starts to pat Cyn down as she flinches from the man putting his hands on her body. Then he reaches under her skirt and slides his hand up between her legs. She shoves him away as he realizes she is carrying a weapon. 'She's packing,' Emanuel tells the other two men. The other men put their hands on their weapons. 'Stop!' A voice emanates from the shadows near their vehicles. Cyn strained her eyes trying to see who the voice belongs to, but the man stayed in the shadows so he wouldn't be recognized. 'Where are the weapons?' he asked? 'I didn't bring them because I don't trust any of you,' she said. 'I have them stashed and waiting at a close-by location.' 'We don't have time for nonsense,' he said as he pulled out his cell phone and placed a call. After he finished the call, he pulled a black duffle bag from his car and said, 'That was my contact and he stated there is no close-by location and this is a setup.' 'Kill the girl!' a voice came from the dark. Cyn quickly grabbed her weapon from her inner thigh holster as someone started firing from the dark. One round hit him in the arm as Emmanuel pulled his weapon and put a round in the center of her chest. As she fell to the ground, she fired one round in the chest of Emmanuel, instantly killing him.

Chapter 1
Guilty
Cyn woke up in the general hospital with an IV sticking out of her arm. A male nurse was washing her naked body. Her mouth was dry and she was thirsty. The nurse notices she was awake as she pointed to a glass of water on the night stand. He quickly poured her a glass of water as she quickly drank it.
“You could have at least waited for our third date before you got me out of my clothes,” she said jokingly as he looked at her and smiled.
“We have been dating over 30 days,” he said as he quickly covered her up. “Let me get the doctor for you.”
Shortly the doctor arrived and he started examining Cyn as her mother and sister were being contacted and the agency she worked for.
“Can I talk to the DEA agent outside my door?” she asked.
“There is no agent outside your door; no one knows that you are even here by the orders of your agency,” the doctor said.
“No one except your mother and your sister, and they have been monitoring you from a distance through the big monitor on the wall that has been setup by your agency. Everything is for your safety because you are supposed to be dead. You have been in a coma for over a month and your wounds have healed. We slowly reduced your medication to bring you out of the coma.”
“Why was I in a coma?” she asked.
“You were shot twice, once in the chest, and you lost a lot of blood before you were found and brought to the hospital. This is your second hospital admittance, and you were moved to conceal your identity. By medical science you should have died from your gunshot wounds, so you really need to thank the man above for sparing your life,” the doctor said.
Two federal agents walked through the door as Cyn started to smile, then she noticed the glazed over stare on their faces; and she realized something was wrong as they quickly walked over and handcuffed her hands to the bed.
“What’s the hell is going on?” the doctor screamed.
“She is under arrest,” the agent said.
“Under arrest, for what?” Cyn screamed.
“You killed a federal agent,” the burly man said.
“You get me an assigned commander down here right now,” she screamed as the agent quickly spoke into his wireless radio attached to his ear piece.
“This is a hospital and not a jail. My patient is not a threat to anyone, and she is not a flight risk. Remove those damn handcuffs from her right now. She is still a patient here in this facility. Everything was fine until we contacted your agency. Now all hell breaks loose as soon as you people arrive. This is very unprofessional,” the doctor said.
The DEA commander walks into the room, with Cyn’s mother and her sister Ami. The commander walks over to Cyn and removes the handcuffs and throws them on the floor.
“They are FBI agents, and you are under investigation,” the commander said. “There was an undercover FBI agent killed by you. I will give you some privacy to talk to your mom and sister, and then I will come back to interview you.”
Cyn’s mother Chloe and sister Ami ran into the room and hugged her as her mother just cried. Her sister Ami looked just like Cyn. The sisters could easily pass for twins. They talked and hugged for a couple of hours. The commander asked the doctor when Cyn could be released.
“After I examine her; there is no reason why she can’t be released today,” he said.
“What about questions and her psyche?” the commander asked.
“You can question her, but just don’t push her too hard,” the doctor said.
The commander re-entered the room as the three women looked at him. Cyn asked her mom and sister to give her a minute with the commander. They exit the room as he pulls out his notes from the briefing packet.
“Cyn, you killed an undercover agent on your last assignment. He was the one who we found lying next to you on the floor when we found you. Your weapon was examined and it was determined that you are the one who shot him.
“Well, who the hell do you think shot me in the chest?” Cyn said.
“The weapon he had in his hand well, the ammo didn’t match the bullet in your chest or arm,” the commander said.
“There were about four men there when I got shot.”
“No, there were only you and the other agent that was doing the transaction,” he said.
“No, there was someone else there who was in charge of the meeting that gave the order to kill me,” she said.
“Can you identify these individuals?” the commander asked.
“No, they were standing in the dark shadows of the room. I couldn’t see them. There were two other Hispanics and one white male,” she said.
“Well, you will have a hearing in five days so try to get your story straight and thoughts processed together. My job is to defend my people, but you give me very little to go on,” the commander said.
“I am innocent and since you or the agency don’t have enough backbone to defend me, then when all of this is over I will be resigning. I will be going my own way,” Cyn said.
“You know if you try to leave the agency your every move will be watched. You have worked some of the highest and most dangerous assignments. If you even attempt to cross that line you will be immediately eliminated. You know the drill.”
“Don’t you mean terminated immediately. You have just proven that the agency has no dedication or intention in backing its agents.”
It’s always been about throwing the one lowest on the climbing ladder under the bus. There are still some of us dedicated to the cause of serving the agency. I have given this agency 10 years of my life, and this is the thanks I get for 10 years of dedicated service. The commander just turned and walked away. He then turned and pointed his finger at Cyn not knowing what to say; he then turned and just walked out the door. Cyn just lie there in her bed with tears in her eyes. It was hard for her to believe that her agency would not back her up and protect her from someone crooked within the agency.
Her sister and mom re-entered the room and continued their happy conversation while Cyn pretended nothing was wrong. She knew she would have to disappear when all of this was over to protect her mother and sister from retribution from her enemies. Her mother Chloe had a large bag strapped over her shoulder.
“I have a surprise for you she said. I thought you might be lonely so I brought your laptop just in case you want to surf the web. I also brought you a set of clean clothes.” Cyn just smiled and accepted the clothes. She took the computer and folded her arms around it as she collapsed it onto her chest. They talked and laughed until visiting hours were over. The male nurse came into the room to convince them to leave and come back tomorrow. He turned and winked at Cyn and told her she needs her rest as she just smiled at him.
“No more free looks and touching from you because I can now bathe myself from now on,” she said. He smiled and waved as he walked out of the room. Cyn began to wonder what else was going on while he was bathing her naked body while she was in a coma. She looked down and opened her gown, and noticed she wasn’t wearing any panties or bra.
She got up and looked into the bag her sister and mom left. She reached into the bag and pulled out a pair of pants and put them on. She still was wondering what kind of freaky things that male nurse was doing to her helpless naked body. She closed her gown and climbed back into bed. She hooked up her laptop and turned it on, and logged into the agency’s secured data base. She started filing a report of her last assignment. She couldn’t remember every detail, so she filed as much as she could.
The male nurse re-entered the room as she quickly closes the laptop screen so he couldn’t see the classified document she was working on.
“Are you okay?” he asked.
“Yes, I’m just working on a report,” she replied. “Are the guards still guarding my door?”
“No, they have been relieved of duty; there are no more guards at your door,” he said.
“I’m getting off duty in a little while, so if you need anything just ring for the nurse at the nurse station and she will come in and check on you. I will be in to check on you tomorrow morning.” He turned and walked away and exits the room. Cyn turned off the lights and eased out of bed. She walked over to the window and peeped through the blind. She saw two undercover agents sitting in a car some distance away. She climbed back into bed and opened up her laptop and went back to working on her research and investigation. She had learned the ins and outs of backdoor intrusion on the web from a computer geek friend of hers. She bypassed some of the agency firewalls and she realized the corruption went higher up in the agency than she had thought. She quickly disconnected the link, so she wouldn’t be detected eavesdropping on the agency’s server traffic.
She turned off the laptop and just lies in bed in the dark thinking who could have betrayed her. She plotted her next move, trying to stay one step ahead of the agency. She decided to ask the male nurse for his help, but she didn’t want to endanger his life. The next morning she woke up early as her nurse arrived and entered the room with her breakfast.
She...
