Year 3580

A lone female scientist was stranded in space, out of food and water. Her ship was running on reserve emergency power with no chance of getting home. The scientist was Doctor Sue Parson. She apologized to her husband for accepting the space anomalies investigation assignment against his protest. The assignment was a long distance without substantial testing. It was a dangerous fifty percent chance of a no return mission. She continued to beg for forgiveness as her ship’s power drained away. Suddenly, a bright light appeared before her. She strained her eyes to see. At first, she thought it was a rescue ship. When she realized there was no rescue ship, she began to feel a presence. “Who’s there?” she asked.

A voice emanated from the bright light, “I have no name. I am known as a supreme being.”

“There is no such thing as a supreme being,” Sue replied.

“Then, how do you explain my existence?” he asked.

“I don’t know. I am a scientist, and I only assume things in theory. I don’t care who you are, but can you help me with fuel, food and water so I can get home?”

“No. I am forbidden to perform such a task.”

“I sense you are a good person,” she said.

“I also sense you are a good researcher that would do your species some good in the future.”

“Please, I don’t care about that, I just want to go home,” She began to cry. I don’t want to die out here. I beg of you, please help me get home.”

He waved his hand as she quickly recovered from her hunger pangs. Her ship then temporarily powered up as the alarm warning stopped flashing, and her ship recovered and powered up.

“This is only a temporary fix until I no longer appreciate your company.”

“Why would you temporarily save me only to let me die later?”

“I have been traveling in space for hundreds of years, and I have never come across a being of your species. You are intriguing to me, and I enjoy talking to you.” He searched and probed her mind so he could appear in human form as not to frighten her in his natural form. The bright lights dissipated as he appeared in male human form. He was six feet tall with black hair, glowing blue eyes and glistening copper tone color skin. He was naked, so she turned her head and closed her eyes.

“Am I not what you expected in your human form,”?” he asked.

“Yes, but you need to put on some clothes.”

He smiled and snapped his finger, and he had on one of her space jumpsuits.

“That is much better,” she said as she smiled at him. “What is your name?” she asked. Knowing that it was the second time she asked him for his name.

“I have no name,” he replied again, “but I am known as an Asguard, and I am one of a few protectors of the galaxy.”

“Well then, it is your job to help me get home.”

“No. It doesn’t work like that. It is my job to protect the galaxy from people like you and your kind with your trash and garbage.”

“Well, there will be trash and other debris in your galaxy if you let me die out here in space.”

“I see your point. What is your name?” he asked. “Don’t answer that question because I would like to see for myself.” He extended his hand and touches her head with his index finger. He started to scan her mind and started to smile as she slapped his hand away.

“What is wrong with you? It is rude to invade a person’s privacy like that.”

“It was not my intention to offend you,” he said.

“I know, but it is considered rude. How would you feel if I scanned your mind to learn everything there is to know about you?” she asked.

“But you can’t,” he replied.

“But if I could, would you want me to do that to you?” she asked. “No? Then don’t do that to me,” she said.

“Then how would I get to know you if I don’t read your mind?”

“It’s called talking. How about we talk to each other to get to know one another, which is what we are doing,” she said.

“I see your point, and I apologize. But since I already scanned your mind, I already know everything about you,” he said.

“Now that you know everything about me, can you help me get home?” she asked. “You are a supreme being, so I know you can help me get home.”

“Yes, I can help you get home, but it will take a lot of energy. I can’t spare that much energy because it will leave me vulnerable to outside forces, which is dangerous. I can get you close to home, but it will take a significant sacrifice on your part. You will have to go into cryo suspension animation, and I would have to merge with you by entering your body.”

“You will have to agree to this because I don’t know how it would affect your mind and your body,” she said. She stared at him in anger, but her desire to get home was more important. “You have already invaded my mind, and you know everything about me already.”

“May I remind you there might be a heavy price to pay if we merge our bodies?”

“I’m willing to take that chance if it will help me get home. How would it work, and will I feel any pain?”

“No, there will be no pain involved. Basically, what I will do is draw energy from your body and energy from mine. I will use that energy to power your engines and open a wormhole and send you home. It will be something like a slingshot effect. I will get you as close as possible where your people can find you. When you’re ready, get undressed and climb into the cryo pod, and I will join you,” he said.

“Will you be in energy form or human form?” she asked.

“You choose,” she said.

She hesitated. “Make it human form,” she replied.

“Good choice,” he said as he smiled and climbed into the cryo pod and held her as the door slid closed.

“Will you be going home with me?”

“No. Once the transformation is complete, you will be transported home, and I will remain here. I will miss talking to you, but I can’t allow you to die here in my quadrant of space.” He snuggled in close as they stared into each other’s eyes. “You might want to close your eyes.”

“No. When this happens, you are the last thing I want to see before I return home.”

He knew she was beginning to have feelings for him. He sensed everything about her. He just didn’t want to tell her. She could see and feel everything around them began to get bright as her ship started to gain full power. Sue’s ship started to vibrate very roughly.

“Is my ship supposed to shake this much?” she asked, “or will it just rip apart?”

He just smiled as the ship started humming with precision and smoothness.

“I’m really going home,” she said.

“Yes, I’m sending you home.” He smiled at her. He leaned in to kiss her. She didn’t resist because she knew that was the least she could do for a ticket ride home. Sue knew one little kiss wouldn’t affect her marriage. It was not like she was sleeping with the guy.

The ship started picking up speed as the wormhole appeared, and her ship started to enter.

“Are you ready for the slingshot effect?” he asked.

She just smiled and said yes as he started to fade into nothingness. He faded from her sight and removed himself from her ship and back into the cold darkness of space. Doctor Sue closed her eyes as the cryogenics process started and she drifted off to sleep. She then began her journey home. Hours later, her ship emerged from the wormhole. The ship was programmed for low-power automatic operation. She was in her home space quadrant, but she was still a long way from earth. The Asgard kept his promise of giving her ship plenty of power to get her home. It would take her another eight months to get home while she slumbered in cryogenics. At one point in time, an alarm on her ship detected an intruder alert, but it was quickly silenced as a false alarm. The ship slowly traveled through space. Thirty days passed, then sixty, and on the eighty-fifth day, the ship finally reached Earth space as it passed one of earth’s satellites.

Earth Command acknowledged it was one of their science space exploration vessels and tried to contact the ship, but there was no answer. They started scrambling a rescue team, and they alerted all of their naval ships and prepared the other branches of the military to be on the alert. Doctor Sue was still unconscious and in cryogenics. The ship neglected to bring her out of cryo. Her ship now entered Earth’s atmosphere and started to descend and heat up. It was a massive ship descending as Earth Command identified the ship and its coordinates to crash land in the desert away from the populated cities. The ship finally crash-landed as it threw dirt and sand in all directions. The ship was built to withstand such impacts and landed with minimal damage. The fighter jets performed a few...
