The Truth
That is only part of my testimony. I have not finished the script yet. A script that was written before the foundations of the world was set in place. God’s story, the one He wrote “In the beginning” about me. GOD and only GOD knows your story because He wrote it. The evil that happens along the journey is not in the script. We are given a free will to make choices so…stay with the script.
Now, before I began, I want you to listen to these words: “The Lord All-Powerful has made this promise: Surely as I have thought, so shall it come to pass and as I have purposed (plan), it shall happen just as I said. I the Lord, have made these plans. No one can stop me now. For I know the thoughts that I have for you says the All-Powerful, thoughts of peace and not evil, I desire to give you an expected end. We are all as an unclean thing, and our righteousness (good deeds) is merely a filthy rag…Lord All-Powerful Father, we are no more than clay, you are the potter. We are the work of your hand…Just as the clay is in the potter’s hand so are you in mine. My children know my voice and I know them, and they follow me. Because before the world was created God had Christ to choose us to live with him and to be his holy and innocent and loving people. God has revealed to us the mystery of His will that He proposed within Himself in accordance with His good pleasure. He said this to fulfill the Word he had spoken, “I have not lost a single one of those whom you given me.”
That’s all scripture. God is Truth and there is no untruth in him. Take a moment and meditate on those scriptures before you continue to read. “He that has ears to hear let them hear what the Spirit is saying to the Body of Christ. Amen!
The Bible tells us that we are to worship our Father in Spirit and in truth. Do we possess a comprehensive understanding of the concept of truth? Yes, we know that His word is truth, but truth must begin with the individual that is seeking it. It is often found in the hidden treasures of life’s experiences. We have been given the choice to do one of two things; Believe Truth or Believe lies.
Truth is within each of God’s children. It is hard to find because of the fall of man in the garden Since that time God has called many to reveal His truth to others through their testimonies: Moses, the prophets, pastors, and myself to name a few. The scriptures that I ask you to read at the beginning of this chapter is God speaking truth to his children. Read it again.
My life’s story is my testimony of how God delivered me from dark situations I encountered while trying to stick to the script. Before I could begin to appreciate or even come to the realization that it was a testimony, I had to get in touch with the author of the script. The Father God wrote the script and is the Director of the stages of my life. We are God’s testimony. “Surely as I have thought, so shall it come to pass and as I have purposed (plan), it shall happen just as I said.”
If you are reading this book, it is evident that you are seeking truth. The bible says that healing is the children’s bread. Amen! However, my meal of choice is truth. I cannot get enough of God’s truth. You may be saved but you are still seeking truth. You are searching for the truth because you are a chosen vessel, a royal priesthood, personally anointed.
I had no idea that I was as lost as I was until I picked up that bible and started to read it. Up to that point in my life, I never gave to much thought about religion. I went to a Catholic school. After I graduated church was the furthest thing from my mind. Thank God my Heavenly Father did not feel that way towards me. When I heard the truth spoken into my spirit that morning, I had to make a choice.
I had never given serious thought about the awesomeness of our Heavenly Father. I had never considered how blessed I was to be a part of His thoughts. “For I know the thoughts that I have for you says the All-Powerful, thoughts of peace and not evil, I desire to give you an expected end.”
When I think back on that morning that the Spirit of the Lord spoke to me, the experience of that moment is unbelievable. I am a fan of the science channel on T.V. “How the Universe Works” is my favorite. The findings that man has discovered about the creation of the universe just blows my mind. The awesomeness of the Wisdom of God’s depth is shown throughout creation. That same God that spoke the universe into existence spoke into my being… “My sheep know my voice and I know them. They follow me and I give them eternal life, so that they will never be lost. No one can snatch them out of my hand.” John 10:27,28 CEV
The Bible tells us that getting wisdom is important but with wisdom get understanding. The first thing I had to come to understand is that God is truth and there are no lies in Him at all. That may sound simple. If it does, then why don’t we just obey him? Because it is not as simple as it sounds.
Once I began to seek him, I had to believe his Word. The second thing that I had to understand is that there is no good thing in me at all. I have nothing to boast or brag about. “We are all as an unclean thing, and our righteousness (good deeds) is merely a filthy rag in his presence.” Jesus the Christ is good. He has blessed me, and all who believe, to be clothed in his righteousness. The third thing I had to understand is that this world is not my home. It is a war zone filled with lies and deceit because of Satan who is the father of deception. Because I was blinded by the things of this world because of my sinful nature, I continued to fall short of God’s truth. The fourth thing that I needed to understand is that within me there are two natures living in one house. Once you have been saved your spiritual nature is born. Therefore, Jesus said, “You must be born again.” However, your fleshly nature (sinful nature) wants to continue to live rent free and continue to control your sinful nature through the desires of your body.
Once I begin to understand the truth spoken in God’s Word, I began to see a speck of light. There is no understanding without acceptance. I began to accept the truth that I am nothing without him. Wisdom helps us to accept the truth, but the effort comes from you.
“Be not conformed to this span of time but be transformed by the renewal of your mind…” I had to accept the truth that this is not my permanent address. The Holy Spirit my Helper began to position my mind to perceive life from a differ prospective. The more I read the bible the more I understood that I have been living a lie. I was a slave to sin. Now even though I am saved and God’s Spirit lives within me I still have personal problems with my old sinful nature. Nevertheless, because of what the Holy Spirit has open my eyes to see I no longer “Walk in darkness.” I resist sin, as much as I can.
We all have our struggles with sin, but I must accept what God has told me, “I am more than a conquer through Christ who strengthens me.” Each time I open the Word of God I find truth. I understand that this is a spiritual war between Light and darkness, Good and evil, Truth and a lie. Now I rejoice in the truth of the Lord because “With all wisdom and understanding, he made known to us the mystery of his will according to his good pleasure, which he purposed in Christ, to be put into effect when the times reach their fulfillment.” Ephesus. 1.9 CEV
The bible says that if anyone thinks they are without sin the truth is not in them. When I think back over what I have experienced in my life, where I was and where I am now, all I can say is thank you Jesus. All glory to his name. I have nothing to boast about. It was His hand that led me through doors that I could not have opened. His love gave me peace that passed my understanding.
Now check out these verses of scripture in Matthew 13. Jesus is speaking in parables, and one of the parables is about a man sowing or planting good seed in his field. When the seed began to grow, weeds also grew alongside it. That’s weeds not weed. In verse 28 Jesus says, “An enemy has done this.” You must understand that the devil has a seed also. It is planted in the minds of those who preferred death over Life, darkness over Light, evil over Good and lies over Truth. We were all once in darkness. Doing what we felt and never giving thought to the truth that “the wages of sin is death.” However, because of God’s Love and mercy we have been called out of darkness into his marvelous light. We are children of the Light, children of the day. You do not belong to the night nor of darkness if you have called upon the name of Jesus the Christ.
It is all about Jesus the Christ our Lord and Savior. “The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me. Because the Lord has anointed me to bring good news to the afflicted: He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted. To proclaim liberty to captives and freedom to the prisoners. To open blind eyes. To bring out prisoners from the cells and those who dwell in darkness from the prison.” This is now our purpose our mission… if you decide to accept it.
While I was incarcerated, I got married a few years before my out date. We were married for 14 years. Unfortunately, in 2007 she passed away from cancer. On the day of her death, she said to me. “I’m afraid.” I asked her what she was afraid of. She said “Dying”. I said a few words to comfort her, and she stopped me...
