Brian Kettell has a wealth of practical experience in theareas of Islamic banking and finance. He is currently based inLondon and works as a specialist Trainer and Consultant in Islamicbanking and finance.
He worked for several years as an Economic Advisor for theCentral Bank of Bahrain where he had numerous Islamic bankingresponsibilities, and has taught courses on Islamic banking andfinance at a range of financial institutions including the WorldBank, National Commercial Bank (Saudi Arabia), Global InvestmentHouse (Kuwait), Noor Islamic Bank (UAE), the UK Treasury, theCentral Bank of Iran, the Central Bank of Syria, the SecuritiesInvestment Institute, the Institute for Financial Services andScotland Yard.
Brian's vast academic expertise in Islamic finance ishighlighted by his role as Joint Editor of the Islamic FinanceQualification Handbook and his past teaching work at a numberof top universities worldwide including the London School ofEconomics, the City University of Hong Kong and London MetropolitanUniversity Business School.
Brian's impressive list of publications include over 100articles in journals, business magazines and the financial pressincluding Islamic Business and Finance, Islamic Banking andFinance, the Central Banking Journal, Euromoney, the SecuritiesJournal and the International Currency Review. He hasalso published 16 books on banking and financial markets and is theauthor of Islamic Capital Markets and Introduction to IslamicBanking and Finance.
