A wildly entertaining, true story. Italian twins with larger-than-life personalities, as different as night and day, estranged and challenged by their tumultuous history as well as their different world realities, come together when on faces mortality.

Dellamarie Parrilli is a multidisciplinary artist, who lives and works in Los Angeles; an enigmatic persona on the scene, who continues to innovate, transcend and intrigue. Her work is wide ranging, ever changing and restlessly experimental, with a distinguished career that spans over five decades encompassing a broad spectrum in the visual and creative arts - painting, sculpting, photography, screenwriting and design. She is a highly accomplished abstractionist, 'a born master of her medium', recognized as one of the most talented contemporary abstract painters painting today. 'Parrilli doesn't fit easily into known categories... outrageously gifted, exceptionally talented with unstoppable creativity' (Ann Landi - contributing editor of ArtNews). Prodigious in her creativity... Her work has the ambiguity of Joan Mitchell, the headiness of Helen Frankenthaler, and the tenacity of Lee Krasner. Dellamarie Parrilli's artistic journey is a testament to resilience and adaptability. Born three months premature in Chicago, her life was marked by early tragedies that shaped her creative outlook. During her youth, Parrilli's father was killed by a drunk driver, and three months later, her family, surviving a devastating house fire, were left homeless. Parrilli, only 11 years old at the time, embraced her creativity; she had found her voice. Despite these adversities, Parrilli found solace and expression through music, writing, and art. Her early passion for the arts led her to pursue a BA in music from DePaul University, where she also honed her skills in tap, jazz, ballet, and improv. Her versatile talent earned her acclaim in Las Vegas and Chicago, but a diagnosis of Lyme disease and Sjogren's Syndrome abruptly ended her burgeoning career on the brink of Broadway success. Parrilli's innovative works have been showcased in prestigious venues, including the Walter Wickiser Gallery in New York, the Hunter Museum, the Ezair Gallery, the Cork Gallery, and Marymount College. Her unique style has earned her numerous awards and her art is held in private and corporate collections worldwide. In 2023, Parrilli's groundbreaking 3D works were exhibited at the Hardin Cultural Center, captivating audiences with their immersive spatial experience. Her use of industrial materials and avant-garde techniques creates a three-dimensional effect that transports viewers into a world of translucence and depth. This book is a significant addition to Parrilli's multifaceted artistic legacy, reflecting her enduring commitment to exploring the depths of human experience through art. CHAPTER 2

Bill pulled into the Comfort Inn & Suites’ parking lot in his trusty ‘96 tan Toyota Corolla. The car, a relic from another era, had seen better days, but it still chugged along with dogged persistence. The muffler rattled, and the engine hummed with the kind of loyalty only a decades-old car could muster. Music blared from the speakers, the bass notes vibrating through the worn upholstery—a fitting soundtrack to the journey that was as much about the past as the present. The Corolla, with its cracked dashboard and sun- faded paint, was a testament to Bill’s spirit and knack for finding adventure, even in the most unexpected places.

As Bill stepped out of the car, his nephew David, in a whirlwind of energy, rushed out to greet him. Their laughter filled the air, a joyful sound that echoed through the parking lot as they exchanged warm hugs.

“Hey Uncle Billy!” David grinned, giving Bill another tight hug.

Bill returned the embrace, his eyes crinkling with warmth. “Heya, David! How ya doin’?” he greeted, his voice filled with affection. Laughter and more hugs followed; their growing bond evident in every gesture. Bill then handed David an impressively eccentric assortment of luggage—three canvas totes, five plastic grocery bags, and one comically tiny suitcase. David looked like a human mule, laden with Bill’s eclectic collection of belongings, but he bore the load with a grin. With a playful roll of his eyes, embodying the shared humor and camaraderie, David headed toward the front desk of the hotel, struggling slightly under the weight but managing to keep the mood light and jovial.

As David returns from dropping the bags off, noticing Billy’s heavyset physique, he instinctually recognizes a perfect suggestion to kick off their newfound adventure, “we should probably go eat.”

Bill chuckled. “Oh yeah, it’s on, sis... she told me ya have her credit card.” Their laughter continued, as Bill flashed his signature wide-eyed, toothy smile.

They hopped back into Bill’s car and drove to the Pecan Grill, where they settled into a cozy booth with menus in hand. Bill read the menu aloud, infusing the descriptions with a salacious flair, his voice dripping with exaggerated relish. David chuckled, shaking his head at his uncle’s theatrics. Bill’s playful banter continued as they explored the menu, each dish becoming a tantalizing story under Bill’s vivid narration.

“Stuffed Green Chiles, with white cheddar, pecan breading, Calamari, lemon caper aioli,” Bill recited, savoring each word as if he could already taste them. “Ah, now we’re talkin’. Ahi tuna, sliced jalapenos, grilled pineapple, avocado, wasabi, and ponzu sauce.” He licked his lips with exaggerated anticipation. “Shrimp Cocktail... shrimp Tempura... crab claws... oh, oh, man, oh man, sautéed alligator...” Each dish rolled off his tongue with the enthusiasm of a connoisseur, his eyes twinkling with delight at the culinary adventure that awaited them. David laughed at Bill’s unabashed excitement, the lighthearted moment a welcome reprieve from the weightier concerns that had brought them together.

David interrupted with a grin, “Uncle Bill, I’m a really light eater...”

Bill winked. “Don’t worry, whatever ya don’t eat, I’ll eat.” The waitress approached their table.

“Good evening. Can I get you something from the bar?” she asked.

Bill declined, saying, “No thanks, sweetheart, but I do believe we’re ready ta order.” He proceeded to place a legendary order: We’ll have the Stuffed Green

Chiles, an order of calamari, two orders a the shrimp cocktail, two shrimp tempura, two Ponzu Ahi tuna ... two sauteed alligator ... gotta have da crab claws, right, two ...Then 2 Caesar’s, large, with da shrimp... some a yer French onion soup... OK, 2 Bacon wrapped filets, rare, and I mean, blood drippin’ rare, den on the side your butter mushroom garlic steak topper... ah, what the hell, might as well try a ribeye too, rare ... then we’ll have the garlic butter mash, grilled asparagus, sauteed spinach... da cauliflower mash n your seasonal veggies.

The waitress, wide eyed in disbelief asks, “Will others be joining you? Bills chuckles, “No, just us sweetheart”. David sits silently totally dumb struck.

Bill, an ardent storyteller continues, “So dis heavy set gal walks into dis bar, sits down at da bar n raises her arm, n her pit was all hairy, not clean shavin. Ya know, really hairy. N she goes, ‘hey, anybody here like ta buy a thirsty gal a drink.’ N all da guys they put der heads down ‘cept this one old dude down at da end a da bar with dees thick glasses.

He goes, ‘I’ll buy da lady a drink.’ So, one a da guys sittin next ta him em says, ‘why woud’ya buy her a drink?’ Old dude says, ‘you kiddin me, I’ll buy drinks fer any gal that kin lift her leg da high’”.

Their waitress returns juggling plates of appetizers, leaves and returns, leaves and returns, she is now running back and forth like a marathon runner with plates while trying to find room on the table. The feeding frenzy is in full swing.

Bill’s enthusiasm for food was infectious, and David couldn’t help but stare, awestruck at his uncle’s culinary escapade. The table soon began to fill with an array of dishes, each more tempting than the last.

For Bill, food was not merely sustenance; it was an experience, a celebration of life itself. His passion and fervor for food extended beyond the palate, delving into the realm of the sensual. He approached each dish with a reverence that bordered on the religious, his eyes gleaming with an almost carnal pleasure as he savored every bite.

As he took the first taste of the Stuffed Green Chiles, his eyelids fluttered shut, and a low murmur of appreciation escaped his lips. “Mmm,” he hummed, the sound imbued with a profound satisfaction. He savored the calamari with a deliberate slowness, rolling each morsel on his tongue as if decoding a complex symphony of flavors. The Ahi tuna, with its harmonious blend of heat and sweetness, elicited a sigh of contentment, his fingers lingering over the slices as if caressing a lover.

David watched in disbelief as Bill moved from dish to dish, his uncle’s sheer enjoyment transforming the meal into a sensuous journey. Bill licked his lips, his eyes twinkling, orgasmic satisfied groans accompanied each bite – everything spoke of a man who found pure, unadulterated joy in the act of eating. It was as if each flavor, each texture, was a new frontier to be explored, a new delight to be savored.

As the meal progressed, David couldn’t help but laugh, marveling at the way his uncle’s love for food turned a simple dinner into a grand, unforgettable adventure.

“Ya ever notice that food is better when someone else is payin’?” Bill chuckled. “Ya know, really, somehow it just tastes better. And even better when sis is payin”

The waitress returned with the main courses, struggling to balance a towering stack of swaying plates as she maneuvered around their table.

“Just keep it comin’, sweetheart” Bill studies her ass as she walks away. Then turned to David, his eyes gleaming with mischief, “Ya see that? Her ass is like da North Star — wise men are gonna follow it and be saved!”

Laughter erupted from their booth, a rich, hearty sound that mingled with the savory aromas filling the air. Each dish set before them was a new delight, adding to the flavors that Bill so enthusiastically explored. Bill’s infectious humor and boundless energy elevated the atmosphere, creating a sense of convivial celebration that was impossible to resist. As they savored the feast, the room around them seemed to fade away, leaving only the shared warmth of their laughter and the delicious anticipation of the next bite.

As they neared the end of their culinary adventure, David pushed his plate away, grinning. “Uncle Bill, I can’t eat another bite, or I’ll puke.”

Bill leaned back in his seat, contemplating their next move. “I say we hit the spa tonight. Hot tub and massage. Then, Chalutes,” a name he spontaneously bestowed upon David, “I say we just push through to Houston. I hear they got some 5-star restaurants out dere, dat I’d like ta try. Let’s get this medical exam or whatever the fuck sis is doin out of the way. I can’t wait to show you Montana”. David thought to himself, “Montana?” he now realized this adventure was going to be far more than what he originally anticipated.

The waitress returned to their table, “Anything else this evening?” Bill couldn’t resist one last playful jab. “Sweetheart, do ya do takeout orders?”

Astonished that he would order more, “Yes, we do. What would you like?” Bill grinned mischievously. “Get your coat and let’s go!” Laughter echoed through the restaurant.

The next day, under the scorching sun of White Sands National Park, Bill and David burst out of their car like excited kids on an impromptu adventure. The park, a spontaneous stop they had encountered on their way to Houston, sprawled before them in a surreal expanse of glistening white gypsum dunes. The dazzling landscape, with its undulating hills...
