Curiosity drives us and has fueled unlikely expeditions: across the ice, into the deep oceans, and to the moon. The mission was one such expedition, during which, for the first time, a spacecraft with a human crew travelled across both polar regions of Earth.

My name is Rabea Rogge. I am an adventurer, researcher, and astronaut of the mission. In this book, I'll take you on a brief journey through time and space, from fearless pioneers of the past to robotic explorers of tomorrow, with right in the middle.

Join me for spaceflight training, float with the crew in weightlessness, and look back at Earth with me. We will talk about science, shifts in perspective, courage and mistakes, and also about how the profession of astronaut is opening up to private people like you and me. Together, we will design a robotic mission and create our own utopia. I invite you to marvel, reflect and dream with me. And to embark on your own voyage of discovery.

Are you ready to set out for new horizons?

Weitere Infos & Material

1 The Past: Humans and Machines on a Journey of Discovery.- 2 The Now: A Journey Through Space.- 3 The Future: Science, Utopias and the Road Ahead.- 4 Conclusion.

Rabea Rogge is from Berlin, Germany, and flew onboard on a polar orbit to space. She studied electrical engineering in Switzerland and is currently pursuing her doctoral degree in Arctic robotics in Norway. As an adventurer and researcher, she has explored the far north and the oceans not only on skis, ships and with robots, but has also been trained as a spaceship pilot and conducted scientific experiments during a mission in space. Beyond her expeditions, she engages with questions about what it means to be human and how we, as humanity, can grow together.
