Two leaves
Dear fellow human being, embrace yourself a hundred times a day and rejoice that you are alive. Life cannot offer you any more. You are no use to humanity until you have recognised the miracle within you. Being free in your thoughts is all that is required of you. Do not talk or complain about others – grant them their freedom, too. Real life has nothing to do with thinking. It is determined by feeling, and therein lies that special quality of life that makes us happy. We can clean and sweep as much as we like, but as long as we fail to clear away the last crumbs of thinking from our bodies and our hearts, we will be unable to lead a peaceful life. Every fragment of thought impairs our view of our own life. Wearing dark glasses doesn’t help – it just makes things even more blurred. Clarity emerges from clear thoughts, and they should be kept as small as possible. They proliferate far too quickly if they are fed too many words.
We can shape our own life by removing the self-made mask from our faces. Only then can we live without pain.
But then we also have the thought filth of others to contend with. Why do we do it to ourselves? Do we not have enough worries? Things we have to clarify with ourselves? Are we simply unwilling to find a solution, or are we incapable of it? We must get rid of our thoughts! Then the THREE LEAVES will be revealed to us. Then everything will be green. Our name will be evergreen. The thoughtless stream of monotony can only be maintained by turning your full attention to counting the THREE LEAVES. This helps to ward off the thoughts as they rise up all around you. You can replace them with the leaf mantra, so to speak, until they are forced to recognise its importance and withdraw of their own accord. In the beginning, the power of thoughts is so strong that you think you will never be able to defeat it. But over time, your repetitive and monotonous practice begins to gain a certain stability. The workings of your mind are pushed more and more into the background. Gradually there is more space for the counting of the leaves between your thoughts. Of course it takes quite some time, but once you have reached the point where your thoughts accept the leaves, they will begin to retreat and enter a period of stillness. However, this also depends on the intensity and perseverance with which you practice the counting. Thoughts only become still if they are consciously guided and directed.
For example, they can be given a thought task that they are not expecting. Then they will quieten down and concentrate on the meaning of the question.
If thought packages become too heavy, you must try to stop them. You should consciously come between the thoughts and ask: "What is my next thought going to be?" Your thoughts are then so overwhelmed and perplexed that they have no spontaneous answer to this question. The thinking apparatus is turned off for several seconds. It is looking for answers and solutions, with no immediate success. Among the huge number of pending thoughts, the mind is unable to decide on a single one that is more important than all the others, and has to take time to sort through them.
We should use these seconds of thought silence to ask ourselves: “What am I feeling at this moment?” At the same time as slowing down our thoughts, we must activate and observe our feelings. The more often we do this, the stronger our own perception will become, and the more successfully and quickly we will be able to repress our thoughts. Our mental intensity decreases, and we stop feeling so confined. We trust ourselves more because our own feelings are gaining the upper hand. This makes us more secure when it comes to dealing with our life issues.
“Do I have to do it now or should I wait?” – you are no longer in doubt. You can be sure that your gut feeling is right. You are not afraid or unsure of yourself. You know what is right. With time, you will learn to rely on your feelings and trust yourself. You experience a kind of security, which leads to stability.
Once you have succeeded in living according to your feelings, your life will be more meaningful. You will be in a position to manage it more consciously and creatively. You suddenly feel love within yourself that emerges from self-respect. Regardless of the incessant input of impressions in everyday life, you remain composed and listen to yourself. You do not allow yourself to be distracted or influenced by trivialities. In time, you will learn to make the right decisions. You trust your feelings and life, and you are guided through it in happiness. What was holding you back was your doubt, which is no longer there. You create order in your thoughts by separating them from one another. You force them apart consciously and limit their scope.
It really helps if you keep asking yourself “What is my next thought going to be?” This unusual challenge stops your thoughts from thinking. They do not know how to answer the question and suddenly forget to think about unimportant things for hours on end, worrying until the early hours. They cannot remember anything, because only one question has priority:
“What is the next thought going to be?” In this way you can stop your thought processes in their tracks, and with time they will slow down to a halt. The flow of thought loses its stability. It loses its meaning. You can now begin to focus on what is essential in life: yourself!
Suddenly, you do not really know what to do with your thoughts. You produce nothing but castles in the air, and your mind stays calm. Consciously and unconsciously, you are considering what you should think next. You have no idea what there is to think about. You are focussing on the question of what you should think. And here we return to the question of the THREE LEAVES. They are the next step in the process of learning how not to think. The monotony suffocates our mental ramblings. This frees up space in our minds for ourselves. We are able to develop our creativity, our intuition and compassion. We choose our words more consciously, using language that has a healing effect. Our aura changes, and our fondness for ourselves grows. Inner calm creates inner peace. The outside world takes a step backwards, and we can move more freely. The hours we used to spend torturing ourselves with thinking are now dedicated to the relaxation of our body, mind and soul. We have overcome the abyss of too many thoughts! A conscious, unrestrained life can now unfold. Time has gained more space. It is no longer wasted on discontented, nagging thoughts. We begin to make choices: what belongs to our thoughts, and what does not? We realise more and more that thinking is negativity. It damages the cells of our body and defaces the mind.
How can we be healed if we do not keep our thoughts in check?
Gradually we become more conscious. Inner peace spreads within us until we reach a point where we have forgotten our thoughts. We go through life with our own feelings, greeting each morning with a happy smile. But before that can happen, we have years of work to do. We must make peace with our childhood, with our mother and father. We must give each person the place they deserve. It is important not to forget ourselves here; we are at the top of the list. No matter how long the list of people we are processing, the last will always be the first. It is an uplifting feeling to belong to life again! Once we have forgotten everything, including ourselves, we will have arrived home.
All attempts at self-healing can only succeed through cleansing your thoughts. You can never become ill if you rely on joyful and enthusiastic thoughts and feelings. This positive energy revives all the cells in your body and lets the spirit shine anew. The more you smile to yourself, the more moments of happiness you will experience. Self-love is crucial for going out into the world with success and happiness. The art of feeling happy consists of letting go and accepting your own smile.
Tell me you love me and I will love myself.
Healing is always self-healing. Look at yourself and you are looking at the world. Help yourself and nature will remain healthy. Unhindered by thoughts, decisions will emerge through meditation. They have been sent from the universe with no conditions, simply intended to express love and contentment. Unbiased by our thoughts, we can fulfil our dreams; all we have to do is say “thank you”. The world of the spirit grants all wishes, but only when the time is right. Things happen when they have had time to mature. The more we rid ourselves of thought debris, the closer we come to ourselves and everything around us seems to happen as a matter of course – indeterminately, free of doubt and with complete satisfaction. We allow divine guidance to take over, and everything is an act of providence. It happens with no intervention or consent on our part; it is allembracing and comes exactly at the right moment.
All we have to do is let it happen and not allow our thoughts to get in the way.
It is a huge relief to let go of thoughts that have been imprisoned inside us. We feel as though we must be dreaming. But we are playing an active part in life at the same time as setting ourselves free and watching from the wings. We are happy with the answers the universe has provided. Zest for life means claiming a piece of freedom for ourselves. We must stop things from becoming overly important and allow them to become part of our simple everyday life. It is particularly important to let things happen, because happening has no intrinsic value. There is no reason to be...
