Prateek Sharma, MD, is Assistant Professor of Medicine,University of Kansas School of Medicine, and Director of ClinicalResearch, VA Medical Center, Kansas City, MO, USA. In 2000, hereceived the ACG Governors Award for Excellence in ClinicalResearch. Dr Sharma is also a recent recipient of a CareerDevelopment Award from the American Society for GastrointestinalEndoscopy (ASGE), and the American Gastroenterological Association(AGA) Castell Esophagus Clinical Research Award. He is also amember of the Barrett's Esophagus Working Group of the US NationalCancer Institute (NCI).
Dr Sharma is involved with the AGA, ACG and ASGE at committeelevel: for the AGA he is on the Education and Clinical PracticeCommittees; for the ACG he is Chair of the Public RelationsCommittee; and for the ASGE he is on the Research and ProgramSelection Committees.
Professor Richard Sampliner is Professor of Medicine,Chief of Gastroenterology, The University of Arizona HealthSciences Center and University Medical Center. He is theGastroenterology Fellowship Program Director, serves on theTraining and Education Committee of the ACG and MKSAP 11 and 12Gastroenterology and Hepatology.
