Michael J. Stern is an Assistant Professor of Sociology at the College of Charleston in Charleston, SC. He has published articles and edited journal symposia on a variety of contemporary social issues such as civic engagement, new media and society, sociology of sport, the dynamics of family and work life, social networks, inequality, and voting behavior, as well as the effects of psychological and structural factors that affect the way people complete surveys.
