For over forty hours, the teenagers Toby, Roland and Mark drift helplessly and completely exhausted on a life raft in the vast sea. As if steered by a ghostly hand, the inflatable liferaft lands on a lonely island. A fresh water lake and some fruits save the boys from starvation. As the three stranded boys explore the tropical island, they come across a disfigured corpse in a ski suit. With cunning and tactics, but also with harpoon, knife, and pistol, the boys decide to get to the bottom of this horrible find... The BLACKFIN BOYS are four teenagers, aged 16 to 19, who - alongside their good-natured Rottweiler - are constantly thrust into life-threatening adventures. These inseparable friends frequently face paranormal threats that can only be defeated through teamwork. Survival and Brotherhood: Their survival depends entirely on their resourceful cooperation. Their enemies are relentlessly trying to eliminate them, but through sheer skill, cleverness, and a few weapons, they manage to gain the upper hand. Success isn't always guaranteed, but one thing is as certain as "Amen" in church: the boys are there for each other. Without exception. Global Adventures: Their journeys take them to the far corners of the globe. Whether on a tropical island, in the Black Forest, on the coast of Israel, in the Peruvian Amazon, or within the Bermuda Triangle - even in Berlin and Antarctica - they battle: Ruthless scientists and occult-fanatic Nazis Demons and mysterious apparitions Animal abusers, murderers, and grave robbers Zombies (the kind that can run fast) They've even had to settle scores in the Realm of the Dead. And perhaps most impressively? These boys manage to do it all almost entirely without smartphones. Real Heroes and Deep Talk: Four guys (ages 16-19) and a Rottweiler named Stiles. They aren't perfect role models; they have flaws, edges, and fears. Their bond is the ultimate law. Weapons and Consequences: Yes, there are firearms and high-stakes action. But unlike a video game, every time a trigger is pulled, there is a consequence - both emotional and real. Cool Gadgets and Mobility: Whether it's amphibious vehicles, helicopters, or rail trolleys - the boys have to stay mobile to survive. Technology is a vital part of the adventure. Horror, Suspense and Splatter: Paranormal phenomena and the eerie unknown provide the chills. It gets bloody sometimes - exactly what the target audience expects from series like The Walking Dead.

CHAPTER 3 – EXPEDITION INTO
THE UNKNOWN

The sun was rising over the island, and the first rays tickled Roland’s nose and woke him. But something was wrong. Usually, when Roland opened his eyes, he was immediately fully awake, with his energy levels at a hundred percent. But that morning he felt kind of weighed down. And the reason for that quickly became apparent. Sometime during the night, Toby and Mark had climbed back and joined him on the rear bench because it was warmer.

“Hey, sleepyheads! Wake up and get off me!” Roland huffed.

Mark mumbled sleepily: “Don’t be so uncozy!”

Toby was also waking up. “It was totally freezing last night!”

Roland just shook his head. “Freezing, my foot! This is not the north pole, you twerps.”

The boys stretched out and climbed out of the helicopter. They took off their clothes and took a refreshing dip in the lake.

“Jeez! I swear that water was much warmer yesterday!” Mark screeched.

Toby grinned: “And maybe yesterday you were also much smarter!”

The three laughed out loud.

“Now look here, kid,” Roland turned to Mark. “With the sun shining down on this lake all day long the water of course gets warmer and warmer. And at night, when there’s no sun, it of course gets colder. Get it now?”

“Thanks dad. Nice teaching moment.”

The boys let themselves drift through the water. They had no plans, just to float and let the blue sky and bright sun take care of the rest. There was not a cloud in the sky and the world seemed to be at peace. It was one of those moments the boys could just enjoy fully. The movement in the water made Roland’s wound dressing come off. They would had begun to hear.

After half an hour the boys climbed out of the water. They let the warm breeze dry their bodies before they put their clothes back on.

Toby was worried: “We each have one t-shirt and one pair of pants. Not even one shoe between the three of us. It’s only a matter of time before we step into something sharp and injure ourselves.”

“Well, when you’re on an exploding sinking ship, you don’t really have time to select your wardrobe,” Roland growled. “A t-shirt and pants are still better than running around naked.”

The three were hungry and so they walked back to the beach. The plan was to get some more coconuts, but they were certainly not prepared for what they found.

“Guys! You see what I see? The ocean delivered some suitcases. No postage or surcharge!” Mark shouted out.

“That must be luggage from our ship!” Roland called out.

Energized and full of hope, the boys pulled the suitcases from the water. There were five pieces of luggage.

“Dear Lord, or whoever is in charge up there, please let there be some shoes!” Toby called up to the sky. He quickly opened the first case. His euphoria quickly changed to hopeless rage. “Man! It’s a whole suitcase full of junk!”

He had opened the suitcase of a young woman. Underwear. High heels. A hairdryer. All girly stuff that was no use on a remote island. He did find some sunscreen and a lighter wrapped up in a pink t-shirt with a cat print. At least something! Mark and Roland had more luck. Their suitcases produced five pairs of sneakers as well as eight t-shirts, six pairs of pants, and two shirts – all of them expensive branded stiff. And when they opened the fourth case, they got a bunch of big towels and two large blankets. Then they turned to the fifth case. This one was made of aluminum and much heavier than the others.

Toby opened it. “Well, that have we here? Two goggles, two snorkels, and even two pairs of flippers – all complete sets!”

“Jackpot!” Roland cried out as if he’d just one the lottery. “Those are awesome. Exactly what we need!” And beneath the flippers was another treasure: “O.M.G! It’s an air-pressure harpoon. Snazzy, and super light. That one’s mine, right?” Roland asserted. He had grabbed the harpoon and was holding it close to his body. Mark was just happy to see Roland to enthusiastic again. Toby was still digging around in the case. “Awesome! A diver’s knife with a holster. Well, that’ll be mine, then.”

Toby quickly strapped the knife to his right leg. He quickly pulled the blade and put it back several times. His face oozed coolness.

“We can catch us some fish!” Mark suggested.

Roland was focused on something else. “The harpoon and the knife are good weapons. Who knows who else besides that cave-freak is on this island?”

The boys did feel somewhat safer and less defenseless. But they also found something else in the case. A waterproof super-8 camera, complete with some new super-8 films. The films in their yellow and black containers were all soaked through, but Mark, remembering that his dad had a camera like that, was certain they were still usable. The films themselves were all shrink-wrapped in waterproof and dust-proof foil and undamaged.

All in all, a valuable find. The owner of the aluminum case had probably planned to dive with another person and shoot a movie. The boys carried their loot to the lake. It was agreed that the clothes saturated with saltwater should be rinsed properly. The boys then spread their wet trousers and T-shirts out to dry on the sun-warmed rocks on the right side of the lake. Toby took command and assigned tasks to Roland and Mark:

"So, you two, I'm going to find some branches and smaller wooden stuff and make a fire, and you're going to grab the diving gear and catch us some fish!”

Roland and Mark looked at each other in amazement, but then went straight to work without protest. They grabbed the diving goggles and fins and went back to the beach. Roland armed with his harpoon, Mark with the Super-8 camera.

"What is this nonsense, you should have Toby's knife with you," Roland asked annoyed. "Do you want to kill a fish with this?"

"It doesn't matter, maybe we can watch the shots one day and then we'll laugh ourselves to death", Mark replied, who generally didn't care much about weapons.

They slipped on their flippers and their diving goggles and snorkels and swam in the two-meter-deep sea in search of some delicious fish. Roland dived ahead. Mark was also supposed to be looking for fish, but somehow, he was so excited about the small film camera that he soon was absorbed filming the underwater world. Meter by meter of film was exposed and the camera buzzed quietly. Mark looked through the viewfinder with excitement. A new world opened up for him.

Absolute silence, peace, wrapped in a pleasantly warm feeling that could be felt all over the body - and in the soul. There were no conflicts here, there was no discussion here, there was no communication of any kind. Here the boys were just as important as the next jellyfish, which swam alone and looked for its swarm, or the small crab, which was just burying itself in the sand of the seabed. The sun's rays, refracted by the surface of the water, made everything appear in the warmest colors. After a few minutes in this silent world, one was tempted to want to come up to the surface again. Roland seemed to float in slow motion through this mysterious world as he looked attentively left and right again and again. Such a peaceful guy - but his finger was always on the trigger, Mark thought. Hm, the orange flippers look a bit uncool. Hopefully they’d come out properly on the developed film.

Roland didn't enjoy the paradisiacal surroundings. Man, not a single fish to be seen far and wide. Where do they hang out? – he asked himself.

The two swam a few more meters until they finally came across a lonely blue back mackerel. Roland didn't think long and pulled the trigger. Whether the fish was edible or not, it was a fish - and Toby had given the order to catch one. The harpoon arrow pierced the fifty-centimeter-long prey. With this stately size, the three boys would surely be able to eat their fill. Roland appeared and shouted exuberantly:

"No coconut today!"

"You did a great job. Wave into the camera!"

Roland, however, preferred to raise his middle finger towards the lens, earning himself an exasperated shake of the head from Mark. The two went to the lake to present their prey to Toby. In the meantime, with the help of the lighter from the suitcase, Toby had kindled a small campfire.

"Wow, not bad, I'm really proud of you guys. And quite a pig one. That's enough for a few meals," his friends stood in front of him grinning proudly, holding the big fish in their hands. "Too bad I can't take a picture of you now. It would be more about your stupid grin than about the fish."

"Just take the film camera and shoot for a few seconds, that's enough," Mark said.

That's exactly what Toby did. "So, finished. Hopefully we can see the pictures one day. Back to our menu, do any of you know how to gut a fish like that?"

Roland was the man of the minute: "I can gut it and eat it too."

"Maybe you can do that on one of those big stones. But don't mess up the new clothes, they're still there to dry!"

Together with Mark, Roland brought the prey to the small rock group at the edge of the lake. Six of the twelve rocks, which were laid out in a semicircle at the lake, were covered with the clothes from the suitcases. They carefully placed the fish on the shallowest of the stones,...
