Alan Walker is Professor of Social Policy and Social Gerontology at The University of Sheffield. He is a Fellow of the British Academy, holds lifetime achievement awards from the British Gerontological Society and the Social Policy Association and was the ESRC’s first Impact Champion (2013). He directed the New Dynamics of Ageing Programme 2005-14.

Wittenberg, Raphael
Raphael Wittenberg, Principal Research Fellow, Personal Social Services Research Unit, London School of Economics and Political Science, leads a programme of research on financing long-term care.

Percival, John
John Percival is Research Associate at Bristol University, UK, and has a background in social work and social gerontology. He has extensive research experience in qualitative and ethnographic studies of older people’s health, housing and social care requirements and priorities. He has led work on social inclusion in connection with sight loss, the benefits and disadvantages of assistive technologies, and end-of-life care in domestic settings and care homes.
