Reni, Guido
GUIDO RENI (1575–1642), in Bologna und Rom tätig, machte sich mit religiösen und mythologischen Sujets einen Namen. Schon die Zeitgenossen verstanden ihn als eine Art Gegenpart zur Kunst Caravaggios. 'Der Göttliche' wurde damit für zwei Jahrhunderte eine der prägenden Figuren der europäischen Malerei.
