The Dead Sea Scrolls represent the remains of an ancient Jewish library which antedates 68 C.E. It is the most significant discovery of biblically related ancient manuscripts, and represents more than 600 ancient Jewish documents. The series presents an introduction, critical text, and literal English translation of all the Dead Sea Scrolls which are not copies of books in the Hebrew Bible. It is the definitive collection of the Dead Sea Scrolls. Fifty scholars from Canada, Germany, Israel, the United States, and other countries serve as subeditors in the series. Volume 6B, the fifth volume to appear in the series, contains improved Hebrew texts and literal translations of 17 Pesharim (biblical commentaries) and related documents. The series is prepared with the text on the left page and the translation on the right. Critical notes help the scholar to understand the text, variants, philological subtleties, and translation. An introduction with bibliography precedes each document.
