Czygan, Christiane
Dr Christiane Czygan was trained in Ottoman Studies by Petra Kappert (Hamburg) and Orhan Saik Gökyay (Istanbul). She received her MA in Turkish Studies, History, and French Literature at the University of Hamburg, where she taught Ottoman History and Literature. Her PhD thesis, How to Rule the State: Young Ottoman Intellectuals and their Concepts in the Journal Hürriyet. (Berlin: Klaus Schwarz 2012) appeared in German. She published numerous articles on Ottoman intellectuals, and premodern Ottoman poetry. Her research interests lay in Ottoman history and literature and she focuses on the history of the press, ruler poetry and premodern rule. Czygan currently teaches at the Federal Forces University of Munich.
Sen, Gül
PD Dr. Gül Sen habilitierte sich an der Universität Bonn und erhielt Venia Legendi für das Fach Islamwissenschaft. Derzeit ist sie als Vertretungsprofessorin für Islamwissenschaft an der Universität Heidelberg tätig.
Conermann, Stephan
Stephan Conermann, PhD, is the Speaker of the Bonn Center for Dependency and Slavery Studies, and the Dean of the Faculty of Arts at the University of Bonn. His research interests include slaveries, narrative strategies in historiographic texts, transition periods, reconciliation processes, global history, and rule and power. His work is focused on the Mamluk and Delhi Sultanates, the Mughal and Ottoman Empires, and the Crossroads Area “Transottomanica.”

Dr. Hülya Çelik studierte Turkologie an der Universität Wien. Sie lehrt an der Universität Hamburg Osmanisch und Türkisch und forscht an der Universität Wien über den Hofbibliothekar Sebastian Tengnagel.

Prochazka-Eisl, Gisela
Gisela Procházka-Eisl ist Professorin für Turkologie am Institut für Orientalistik der Universität Wien. Sie ist Verfasserin zahlreicher Arbeiten zur osmanischen Literatur- und Kulturgeschichte und Begründerin der Zeitschrift Keshif, die sich ausschließlich der Edition osmanischer Schriftstücke widmet.
