Microsoft Power BI is a collection of business intelligence and analytics applications and services designed to work in coordination with each other to provide visual, interactive insights into data.

• Some prior knowledge of Power BI is recommended.

• SQL Server (any edition, including Express and Developer, which are free) is required, with the database installed. This database is a free download and instructions for installation are covered in the first chapter of this book.
• Some recipes require additional Microsoft licenses such as Excel, Teams, PowerPoint, OneDrive, Power Automate, Power Apps, and Dynamics 365.
• Recipes for Microsoft Fabric require a Fabric capacity (trial or production).
