Charles Desforges is Professor of Education at theUniversity of Exeter. His previous books include An Introduction toTeaching (Blackwell, 1995). He has also been the Director of theESRC Teaching and Learning Programme for the past three years, thelargest education research programme ever funded in theUK.
Richard Fox has recently retired after ten years as alecturer and Senior Lecturer in Primary Education at The School ofEducation, University of Exeter
