Solid-Liquid Adsorption: How to Do Correct Batch Experiments and Analyze Data provides a critical review of available literature, showing the most frequently made interpretation errors and providing methodological guidance on the practical use of fundamental concepts in adsorption science and technology. Adsorption science and technology is a well-established field with a broad range of applications. Nevertheless, the handover of knowledge and experience from expert seniors is not always optimal. This means that incorrect results and relevant mistakes are not made public. This book shares both successes and failures, helping new researchers avoid past mistakes.

Woo, Seung Han
Seung Han Woo is a professor in Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering, Hanbat National University, in Republic of Korea. He received his Ph.D. degree (Chemical Engineering) from Department of Chemical Engineering, Pohang University of Science and Technology, in 1998. He researched as a Post-Doc. in Department of Civil Engineering, Northwestern University, United States, in 1999. He researched as a visiting professor in Department of Soil Science, Cornell University, United States, in 2012. His research interests comprise adsorption, nanoparticles, hydrogel, biochar, wastewater treatment, biodegradation, microbial energetics and modelling, bioreactor and process design, and soil remediation. Especially, he focuses on (1) developing new nanocomposite adsorbents for removal of various contaminants, (2) establishing a new theory in using hydrogel beads as adsorbents, and (3) producing the adsorbents in large scale and commercializing them in water and wastewater treatment industry. Prof. Woo has published more than 80 papers in reputable journals. He currently works as a reviewer for many reputable journals.

Tran, Hai Nguyen
Dr. Hai Nguyen Tran currently a lecturer and researcher in Duy Tan University, Vietnam. His interesting research focuses on adsorption, Fenton-like reaction, photocatalysis, UV/chlorine process, volatilization, green synthesis, and solid waste management. Especially, he is interested in (1) exploring the adsorption mechanism of various contaminants, (2) developing a variety of advanced materials, (3) characterizing them by various advanced techniques, and (4) applying them for water and wastewater treatments. During his early career, Dr. Tran authored 37 reputable-journal publications and two book chapters. He is a regular and outstanding reviewer for many prestigious journals in many well-known publishers (i.e., Elsevier, Taylor & Francis, Springer, Wiley, SAGE, IWA, Mary Ann Liebert, PLOS, Hindawi, MDPI, and NC State University). Currently, Dr. Tran is the editorial board member of several renowned journals-Science of the Total Environment (in press); Water Science and Technology (IWA); Air, Soil and Water Research (SAGE); Bulletin of Environmental Contamination and Toxicology (Springer); Nanotechnology for Environmental (Springer); and SN Applied Sciences (Springer). He is also working as Bentham Science Ambassador from Vietnam of the Bentham Science Publishers (2019-2020).

Chao, Huan-Ping
Huan-Ping Chao is a professor in Department of Environmental Engineering, Chung Yuan Christian University, in Taiwan. He received his Ph.D. degree from Graduate Institute of Environmental Engineering, National Taiwan University, in 2003. His research interests include adsorption, volatilization, environmental contaminant analysis, and remediation of soil and groundwater, and solid waste management. At present, his research consists of (1) developing new adsorbents for removal of various contaminants, (2) establishing a theory of volatilization and discussing the volatilization mechanisms of organic compounds from water, (3) developing new techniques for the remediation of soil and groundwater. Up to now Prof. Chao has published more than 50 papers in the ISI journal list and two book chapters. He serves as an expert reviewer for many prestigious environment-focused journals in different publishers.
