This book is the result of a cooperation between legal scholars from University of Aarhus, University of Copenhagen and University of Southern Denmark together with colleagues from University of Oslo, University of Auckland, University of Waikato, Georgia State University, University of Illinois, University of Maine and University of New Mexico. The cooperation has mainly been centred round the Danish Masters Programme of Environmental and Energy Law.

The programme is a two-year part-time post-graduate programme designed to give professionals working within the environmental and energy areas a thorough introduction to environmental and energy law and to selected environmental and energy related issues within economics and political science.

This book has been designed to fit into the comparative part of the programme.
