The present volume represents the long history of cooperation in the field of Geography between Iranian and German scientists. It is a documentation of the long lasting collaboration of German-Iranian geography as well as a road sign indicating possible future activities and directions of joint research initiatives.
Dating back as far as the 1960s, cooperation in the field of geography began decades ago. The book is dedicated to Prof. Dr. Iranpour Djazani from the National University of Iran (now Shahid Beheshti University in Iran). Together with Prof. Dr. Eckart Ehlers he established the still vivid cooperation and exchange program, now going into the fourth generation. The volume shows examples of recent and past joint research activities and is a clear indication of the intensity and endurance of German and Iranian collaboration based on of our common subject - geography.
