Spieler, Claudio
Claudio Spieler is a versatile Austrian percussionist especially skilled at kanjira and konnakol. He performs at festivals and venues from Havana to Reykjavik and teaches at drum camps and universities all over Europe. After graduating cum laude in classical percussion and eight years of intensive study with the renowned percussionist Hakim Ludin, he is now a student of Indian kanjira master Selvaganesh Vinayakram. As a solo artist and as part of several international projects his specializations include South Indian and Latin music, flamenco and interactive concerts for kids. Claudio‘s style of playing is subtle, imaginative, humorous and above all virtuoso, radiating the pure pleasure of making music. TALADIDDLE is his first book.

Claus Hessler's name stands for top-level instrumental standards in the fields of Moeller technique, rudiments, coordination and open-handed playing combined with a wide-ranging musical and stylistic spectrum and an encyclopedic knowledge of percussion across the board. On his many tours abroad he has given guest lectures and held master classes with globally renowned institutes and drum events in around 40 countries. In Germany, Claus Hessler teaches at the Frankfurt University of Music and Performing Arts, the University of Popular Music and Music Business in Mannheim and the Music College Dinkelsbuehl. Internationally renowned drummers such as David Garibaldi, Daniel Adair and Anika Nilles greatly value his expertise communicated in his private teaching activities.
