Andre P. De Leenheer is Professor of Medical Biochemistry and Toxicology and serves as President of Research at the University of Ghent, Belgium. His extensive research encompasses numerous topics concerning biomedical and toxicological applications of instrumental analytical methods. He is the author, coauthor, editor, or coeditor of over 340 books, book chapters, research papers, and abstracts in the field. A member of 30 international scientific societies, Dr. De Leenheer was the organizer and chairman of the biennial International Symposium on Mass Spectrometry in Life Sciences. He received the Ph.D. degree (1968) in pharmaceutical sciences from the University of Ghent, Belgium. Willy E. Lambert is Professor in the Laboratory of Toxicology, University of Ghent, Belgium. He began his scientific work in medical biochemistry on the chromatographic analysis of the fat-soluble vitamins A and K, and is the author or coauthor of over 100 scientific journal articles and book chapters. His interest is now directed toward analytical toxicology. Professor Lambert received the Ph.D. degree (1982) in pharmaceutical sciences from the University of Ghent, Belgium. Jan F. Van Bocxlaer is Professor in the Department of Medical Biochemistry and Clinical Analysis, University of Ghent, Belgium. A leading researcher in biomedical and clinically oriented analytical chemistry and toxicology, Dr. Van Bocxlaer is author or coauthor of over 70 research papers and abstracts, lectures on medical biochemistry, and designed a course in toxicology at the National Institute of Criminology and Criminalistics, Brussels, Belgium. He graduated as a pharmacist in 1986 and received the Ph.D. degree (1992) in pharmacy from the University of Ghent, Belgium.
