Michael A. Steele is the H. Fenner Endowed Professor of Research Biology at Wilkes University. He is a coauthor of North American Tree Squirrels, Squirrels of the World, and Terrestrial Vertebrates of Pennsylvania: A Complete Guide to Species of Conservation Concern.

Thorington Jr., Richard W.
Richard W. Thorington, Jr. is a curator of mammals at the Smithsonian's National Museum of Natural History. He is the co-author of Squirrels of the World, published by Johns Hopkins University Press. For many years.

Koprowski, John L.
John L. Koprowski is a professor of wildlife conservation and management and the director of the School of Natural Resources and the Environment at the University of Arizona. He is a coauthor of Squirrels of the World.

Richard W. Thorington, Jr., is a curator of mammals at the Smithsonian Institution's National Museum of Natural History and the author of Squirrels: The Animal Answer Guide, also published by Johns Hopkins University Press.
