Mohammed T Abou-Saleh is Professor of Psychiatry at StGeorge's, University of London. Previously Professor and Chairmanof the Department of Psychiatry and Associate Dean for ClinicalAffairs, United Arab Emirates University (1991-1998). Chairman ofthe World Psychiatric Association Section on Biological Psychiatrysince 1998. Consultant for the World Health Organisation, member ofthe Board of Directors of the World Federation for Mental Healthsince 2007. Research interests in clinical neurosciences ofdepression and substance misuse.
Cornelius Katona is Hon Professor of Psychiatry of theElderly at University College London. His main research interestsare in dementia, mood disorders in old age and mental health ofasylum seekers. He has extensive experience of clinical trial workin dementia and in depression. He is Chair of the World Federationof Societies of Biological Psychiatry Taskforce on Old Age and ofthe Dementia Clinical Studies Group within DeNDRoN (the UK Dementiaand Neurodegenerative Disorders Network). He has been Editor inChief of the Journal of Affective Disorders since 1994.
Anand Kumar is Lizzie Gilman Professor and Head of theDepartment of Psychiatry at the University of Illinois at Chicago.He received his M.D. degree from Madras Medical College in Madras,India and completed his Residency training in Psychiatry at theUniversity of Michigan, Ann Arbor. He subsequently served as aMedical Staff Fellow in the Laboratory of Neurosciences at theNational Institute on Aging. Dr. Kumar's research focuses onlate-life depression and mental disorders of the elderly, includingAlzheimer's disease. He was Treasurer, Program Committee Chair andPresident of the American Association for Geriatric Psychiatry,2004-2005. He is Associate Editor of the American Journal forGeriatric Psychiatry and has served as reviewer for numerous NIHreview committees. He has been consistently funded by NIH researchgrants for over 18 years and is author or co-author of more than100 peer-reviewed journal articles and book chapters.
