This volume is a collection of essays on educational issues belonging to educators and researchers from three continents, namely Africa, Asia, and Europe. The essays are grouped into four sections: the first, “Teaching and Teacher Education”, encompasses collaborative learning, learning competencies, learning strategies, pre-service teachers, and special education. Hasan Arslan is currently an Associate Professor at the Onsekiz Mart University of Çanakkale, Turkey. He received a BA in Educational Administration and Supervision from the Hacettepe University of Ankara, Turkey, and an MA in Educational Administration and a PhD in Higher Education from the American University of Washington, DC, USA. His research interests are educational administration, student leadership, multicultural education, and higher education policy. He authored Turkish Educational System and School Administration (2010) and Class Management (2011), and co-edited Applied Social Sciences: Education Sciences (2013) and Multicultural Education: From Theory to Practice (2013).

Georgeta Rata is currently an Associate Professor at the Banat University of Agricultural Sciences and Veterinary Medicine in Timisoara, Romania. She received a BA in French and English and a PhD in Linguistics from the University of Bucharest, Romania. Her main areas of interest include languages, communication, and education sciences. She has co-edited Applied Social Sciences: Education Sciences (2013), Multicultural Education: From Theory to Practice (2013), and Education and Continuous Education (2014).

Ercan Kocayörük is currently an Associate Professor at the Onsekiz Mart University of Çanakkale, Turkey. He received a BA in Psychological Counseling from the Middle East Technical University, Turkey, an MA in Psychological Counseling from the Ankara University, Turkey, and a PhD in Psychological Counseling from the Middle East Technical University. His main areas of interest are parent education, parent and adolescent relations, counseling with adolescents, and school-counseling services. He is the author of Father Involvement in Adolescent Development: Promoting the Father-Child Relations in Adolescence (2009).

Mehmet Ali Içbay currently works as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Curriculum and Education at the Onsekiz Mart University of Çanakkale, Turkey. He received a BA in Foreign Language Education and Psychology and a PhD in Curriculum and Instruction from the Middle East Technical University, Turkey. He worked as a researcher at the Ohio State University and Southern Illinois University, USA. His main research interests are rooted in the ethnomethodological account of social organization in the classroom settings.
