Bedjaoui, Mohammed
Prof. Mohammed Bedjaoui war Richter am Internationalen Gerichtshof (IGH) in Den Haag von 1982 – 2001, davon als Präsident von 1994 – 1997. Von 2005 bis 2007 amtierte er als Außenminister Algeriens und Dekan der Rechtswissenschaftlichen Fakultät von Algier. Von 1965 bis 1982 war er Mitglied der „International Law Commission“. B. ist Autor und Herausgeber zahlreicher Bücher und Aufsätze, darunter auch Co-Autor von „International Law: Achievement and Prospects (1991).
President of the International Court of Justice, 1994-1997, and a judge on the Court from 1982-2001. From 2005 to 2007, he was the Algerian Minister of Foreign Affairs. He also served, inter alia, as the Algerian Minister of Justice and as Dean of the Faculty of Law of Algiers. From 1965 to 1982, he was a member of the International Law Commission. Judge Bedjaoui is the author or editor of numerous books and articles, including (ed.) International Law: Achievements and Prospects (1991).
