Niki Davis is the University of Canterbury Distinguished Professor of e-Learning and Director of the College of Education, Health and Human Development. She has been recognised as a leader in this field for more than 35 years, including service as President of the IT in Teacher Education association (ITTE) in the UK in the 1980s, chair of the International Federation of Information Processing working group for educational research in the 1990s, president of the Society of Information Technology and Teacher Education (SITE) in the USA in the 2000s, and as president of the national association for open flexible and distance learning in New Zealand (DEANZ) from 2009.
