Sigrid März had been taking care of her own Lineolated Parakeets since 1994. What initially began as only a few parakeets soon turned into a flock.
In 2002, she, together with Hendrik März, created the German platform www.katharinasittiche.de as well as the associated internet forum the year after. This work quickly evolved from solely providing information to the general public to actively consulting and assisting with the placement of these birds. As a result of her work, she launched the project 'Das Katharinasittichnetzwerk' ('The Lineolated Parakeet Network') with the help of other like-minded individuals in 2007.
