Migration is not a state of emergency, but a basic existential experience of humanity. It shapes contemporary societies by challenging established orders, creating transnational spaces beyond national hegemonies, creating new economies, influencing urban and communal ways of life, making inequality and precariousness visible locally and globally. Migration research as a social science does not narrow the focus to 'the migrants', but investigates the conditions for living together and shaping life between ethnicization and pluralization, discrimination and empowerment, division and participation.

Donlic, Jasmin
Jasmin Donlic (Dr.), geb. 1990, ist Assoziierter Professor am Institut für Erziehungswissenschaft und Bildungsforschung (Arbeitsbereich Diversitätsbewusste Bildung) an der Alpen-Adria-Universität Klagenfurt. Seine Forschungsschwerpunkte sind Postmigration, Diversität und Bildung sowie qualitative Forschungsmethoden.

Peterlini, Hans Karl
Hans Karl Peterlini (Dr.), geb. 1961, ist Professor für Allgemeine Erziehungswissenschaft und Interkulturelle Bildung an der Alpen-Adria-Universität Klagenfurt. Seit 2020 ist er Inhaber des UNESCO-Lehrstuhls 'Global Citizenship Education – Culture of Diversity and Peace'. Seine Forschungsschwerpunkte sind ethnische und sprachliche Diversität in nationalstaatlichen Kontexten, personales und soziales Lernen in Schule und Gesellschaft, transformative Bildung sowie gesellschaftliche Inklusion.

Hans Karl Peterlini (Dr.) is professor of general pedogy and intercultural education at the University of Klagenfurt. His research focuses on ethnic and linguistic diversity in nation-state contexts, personal and social learning in schools and society, and inclusive processes in migrant societies. Since 2020 he holds the UNESCO Chair 'Global Citizenship Education - Culture of Diversity and Peace'.
Jasmin Donlic (Dr.) is a postdoctoral assistant at the department of general education and diversity conscious education at the department of educational science and educational research at the University of Klagenfurt. His research focuses on inter- and transcultural education in the context of migration and inclusion, multilingualism in schools, and adolescent identity formation in regional transnational spaces.
