Robin Spiller is Professor of Gastroenterology in the WolfsonDigestive Diseases Centre, University Hospital, Nottingham. He hashad a long-standing interest in the pathophysiology of funtionalbowel diseases particularly those arising after bouts ofgastrointestinal infections.
David Grundy is Professor of Biomedical Science at the Unversityof Sheffield. He has for many years pioneered the study of afferentsignalling in the gut with particular interest in the mechanismsthat mediate and modulate sensory signal transduction.
