Bart Vandenabeele is Professor of Aesthetics and Philosophyof Art at Ghent University, Belgium. His research interests includeKant, Schopenhauer, Nietzsche, tragedy, the sublime, aestheticjudgment, and the values of art and literature. He has publishedchiefly in the areas of philosophical aesthetics, the history ofeighteenth- and nineteenth-century philosophy, and the philosophyof language and communication. He is associate editor ofEmpedocles: European Journal for the Philosophy ofCommunication.
