The Science of BMX is the first book to examine the scientific underpinnings of BMX and offer theoretically grounded, evidence-based interventions to improve cycling performance. Drawing on the latest research across the sport and exercise sciences, the book explores every aspect of BMX preparation and performance, including:

- Physiological elements of BMX performance

- Physiological testing in BMX

- Periodisation and applied training methods

- Strength and conditioning for BMX

- The psychology of racing

- Bike dynamics and design

Integrating case study examples throughout, no other book bridges the gap between scientific theory and applied practice in the same way, making The Science of BMX a valuable reference for students and researchers in applied sport science and essential reading for sport scientists or coaches working in the discipline of cycling more broadly.
