Marshall, Roger
Roger Marshall (Jamestown, RI) has impressive credentials as a designer, author, and boater. After 5 years designing for the legendary firm of Sparkman & Stephens, he founded his own design company and has created boats from 15 to 65 feet in length. He is the author of 12 boating books, including The Complete Guide to Choosing a Cruising Sailboat (1999), All About Powerboats (2001), and Rough Weather Seamanship for Sail and Power (2006). An accomplished sailor, Marshall has competed at all levels of racing, including 5 Fastnet races, 11 Bermuda races, and the 1997 Atlantic Challenge from New York to Falmouth, England (placing third). Author of more than 600 magazine articles, he is a six-time Boating Writers International award winner and chair of the publications committee for the Society of Naval Architects and Marine Engineers.

Roger Marshall is an accomplished yachtdesigner, competitive sailor, and author of 12 yachting books.After designing for the renowned firm of Sparkman &Stephens, he established his own design company, where hehas designed sailboats and powerboats from 15 to 65 feet.Project manager in 1987 for the Courageous America’s Cupteam, he has written some 600 articles for boating magazinesworldwide and is chair of the publications committee for theSociety of Naval Architects and Marine Engineers.
