Wasim Khan is a University Lecturer and Honorary Consultant Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgeon, in the Division of Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of Cambridge and Addenbrooke's Hospital, Cambridge, UK.Wasim was awarded a MRC Clinical Research Training Fellowship to complete his PhD looking at chondrogenesis in MSCs under the supervision of Professor Tim Hardingham at the University of Manchester. He was awarded the Syme Medal by the Royal College of Surgeons. Wasim then completed an Orthopaedic Academic Clinical Training programme at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital, Stanmore and University College London, where he was a Lecturer from 2010-14 under the supervision of Professor David Marsh and Professor Tim Briggs. Wasim has completed national (Bristol and Cardiff) and international (USA, Europe and Australia) clinical and research fellowships. He has authored over 250 papers, 50 chapters and 3 books. His areas of expertise are knee, trauma, orthopaedics, sports medicine, cartilage, meniscus, arthroscopy, stem cells, chondrocytes, chondrogenesis.K. Mohan Iyer did his MCPS (1971) from the College of Physicians and Surgeons, Mumbai, India; MBBS (1971) from the University of Mumbai; D’Orth. and FCPS Orth. (1975) from the College of Physicians and Surgeons; MS Orth. (1978) from the University of Mumbai; and M. Ch. Orth. (1981) from the University of Liverpool, UK. During this time, he wrote three theses on fractures of the patella, excision arthroplasty of the elbow, and excision of the trapezium for carpometacarpal arthritis of the thumb.
